At the time of this writing, it has been two (2) weeks since the Government of Canada shut our borders and implemented travel restrictions to stem the spread of COVID-19.
Cancellations of scheduled in-person permanent resident landings, medical and biometric collection and citizenship ceremonies have still not been rescheduled. Extensions of niney (90) day’s have been given.
Clients are expected to comply with any requests given to them by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship IRCC within that time. Clients that are unable to complete these requests due to country conditions are expected to notify IRCC in writing and request an extension of time to comply. Any persons presently in Canada must maintain a legal status.
The centralized network is still up and running, but the call center is not accepting calls due to reduced staff. All inquires can be made through the Case Specific Inquiry //www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp.
Removals by The Canada Border Service Agency, CBSA are on pause until further notice and Flag polling is discouraged.
